Privacy policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
This policy covers the iWorldGlobe app (version 3.0 and later) on iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website. It explains what information is used, why, and the choices you have.
The short version
- There is no account to create. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number to use the app.
- Learning progress is saved against an identifier the app creates on your device.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. A one time purchase removes them.
- GLOBI's voice is recorded audio inside the app. The app does not use your microphone, camera, contacts or location.
- There is no chat and no way to share content with other users.
Information the app uses
On your device
Your settings, the explorer name and badge you choose when you start, saved lessons and GLOBI preferences are stored on your device. Deleting the app removes them.
Learning progress
To keep your XP, levels, passport stamps and badges, the app sends your progress to our backend (hosted on Supabase) together with an identifier generated on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name or contact details.
Product analytics
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used, for example which screens are opened and which features are tried, along with basic device and app version information. We use this to fix problems and improve the app.
Purchases
Purchases are made through Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to confirm what you have bought and to restore purchases. We never see or store your payment card details.
Advertising
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier and information about your interaction with ads. On iPhone and iPad, the app asks your permission before allowing tracking for personalized ads; if you decline, ads are not personalized using that identifier. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings. World Explorer and Ad Free Explorer remove ads.
Information this website uses
The website stores your cookie choice in your browser. If you choose to allow analytics, it sends anonymous interaction events to PostHog, such as which section was viewed, which store button was tapped, and which country was chosen in the GLOBI demo. If you choose essential only, no analytics events are sent.
